This is a poem of the words my mother spoke to me in a dream. I had been missing her with a vengeance. Not long after, I became pregnant with my second daughter. I had needed these words from my mom.

TELL THEM I WAS

YOUR BIGGEST FAN

THAT I FOUGHT

WARS FOR YOU

SHOUTED YOUR PRAISES

DEFENDED YOUR FAULTS

AND YOUR RIGHT TO BE WRONG

LAUGHED OUT LOUD WITH YOU

PLAYED YOUR GAMES

AND A FEW OF MY OWN

TELL THEM HOW MUCH

YOU LOVED ME

AND ALL I

LEARNED

FROM

LOVING

YOU
