Swaying Grasses | A Poem by Georgia Sanders

Swaying grasses poem- Waves crashing against sandy shores
Swaying Grasses | A Poem by Georgia Sanders

Eating plastic food

from a plastic plate

Looking for swaying grasses

in memories of the sea

Forces pulling –

sorrow-drenched knowing

Bullets piercing –

Akron to Bucha

Words ripping –

Los Angeles to Tallahassee

Stands not taken in D.C.

Stands taken in Tehran

Protests in Paris

Silence in Xinjiang

The tide of authoritarianism

is not the sea that I seek

The waves of anti-Blackness

are not the ride that I will take

blank
