Life Saver – A Poem By Sylvia Syms

Life Saver

Life Saver

Required to avoid you and all look-a-likes
Lefties with a good Mud slinging arm
Refusing to be winched
From my good space
All ringers are off
My doors dead bolted
Shut-in but not sick
Curtains closed to voyeurs
Self-inflicted isolation
Always heals
No gate crashers allowed
Present all invitations
At reception area
Nontransferrable facsimilies accepted
No offense intended
Though sure to be taken
Just trying to save
My own life
