Boppin’ around Old Town Pasadena and want something fresh-tasting, hand-made and not too pricey? Super hot out and need a cool place to grab a drink and get refreshed before heading back out into the California sunshine? California Chutney Tandoori Kitchen is the spot for you!
One of the cool things about California Chutney is they make their own Naan bread for each order. The specially made Tandoor Oven turns out deliciously light taco-sized Naan while you wait! One of the most popular menu items is something they call a “Cali Naan”. My favorite is to have the Tandoori Chicken on a bed of lettuce and add mango Ginger Chutney (made fresh on the premises!) with three or four other veggies for flavor & crunch!
The Artisan Chutneys are all delicious : ) You order what you would like with your meal, but there is also a Chutney Bar where you can get more of your favorite as you would like. The Chutneys are all custom blends – yum!
Here’s the Chutney Bar : )
The restaurant is always clean & cool with plenty of seating. As I’m writing this, I’ve already been five or six times!
Try out California Chutney next time you are in Old Town Pasadena and need a quick bite or a bright place to meet a friend. The large picture windows all look out into Old Town and are great for people watching. The food is hand-made and tastes great! There is a lunch special for under $5! Enjoy, and if they ask, tell them CultureHoney.com sent you ; )
